What languages are lessons available in?

Private and freeride lessons are available in English, Mandarin Chinese (普通話), and Cantonese (廣東話). The fixed-date First-Timer ski group lesson is taught in English. The separate snowboard group lesson is taught in Mandarin Chinese; English-speaking snowboard first-timers should book a private lesson.

Which resorts do you operate at?

JPow Sakura is registered at Sapporo Teine, Sapporo Kokusai, and Kiroro. We plan to register directly at Rusutsu for the 2026–27 season, subject to final resort approval. At Niseko and Furano, lessons are still taught by the JPow Sakura team; the resort-registration arrangement may operate under a locally registered school name.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Equipment rental is available at all of the resorts we operate at. We can advise on rental options when you book. If you have your own equipment, that is also welcome.

How do I book a lesson?

Use our booking page to choose the lesson and one of three payment options, then continue to SimplyBook to select the live date and time, complete the intake form, and pay securely through Stripe. The booking is confirmed after the required deposit or full payment succeeds.

What is your cancellation policy?

Standard uses a non-refundable 30% deposit, with 70% due later. Full Payment Saver takes 5% off the applicable regular, early, or spring standard price when you pay 100% at booking; customer cancellation is non-refundable. Refundable Full Payment costs 10% more and is 100% refundable when you cancel at least 72 hours before the lesson; inside 72 hours and no-shows are non-refundable. These rules are subject to mandatory law. If we cannot provide the lesson, or the scheduled resort fully closes and you decline an alternative, you may choose a full refund, a new date, or booking credit.

Do you add 10% consumption tax at checkout?

No. The displayed price is the total lesson price, and no separate 10% consumption-tax charge is currently added at checkout. Refundable Full Payment is 10% higher because it includes the stated cancellation right; it is not a tax charge.

Are lessons available for children?

Yes. Our youngest guest so far started at 2 years and 10 months. This is not a guaranteed minimum age: suitability depends on the child’s readiness, equipment fit, snow and weather conditions, and the lesson plan. Before booking, please provide the child’s age, foot length in centimeters, usual shoe size, and whether they will ski or snowboard so we can help confirm that the lesson and equipment are suitable.

Can I book lessons for a group?

Yes. Private small-group lessons can be booked together. Our separate Sapporo Teine First-Timer ski and snowboard group lessons are full-day classes for true first-timers age 16+, priced at ¥40,000 per person. They run only during the regular season and require full payment when booking; seasonal discounts, FULLPAY5, and refundable-rate variants do not apply. Ski is taught in English; snowboard is taught in Mandarin Chinese. The all-inclusive package covers the rental set, wear, gloves, goggles, helmet, pads, and lift access. Each fixed date requires 3 paid guests and allows up to 6. Book and pay directly in SimplyBook; no enquiry is needed. Booking closes 7 days before, and a class with fewer than 3 paid guests is cancelled with a full refund.

Is resort lift access included in the lesson price?

Lift passes are generally not included in private or freeride lesson prices and need to be purchased separately. The ¥40,000 First-Timer ski and snowboard group lessons are the exception: they include the free beginner learning area and the required hourly lift tickets once the class is ready for lift runs.

Do I need insurance for a Freeride & Powder lesson?

Yes. Every participant needs valid winter-sports insurance that covers off-piste or ungroomed-terrain skiing or snowboarding. Insurance is not included in the lesson price. You may bring suitable existing cover or select the optional Insurance Arrangement during SimplyBook checkout at ¥1,000 per person; choose at most one option matching the number of participants who need JPOW-arranged coverage.
