Private by design

A calmer way to learn as a family

Family ski lessons work best when the instructor can respond to the people in front of them. We build the day around safety, encouragement, and useful progress—not a one-size-fits-all itinerary.

A pace that fits your family

A private instructor can adjust the lesson around confidence, energy, and ability instead of asking everyone to follow a fixed group pace.

Ski or snowboard

Choose the discipline that fits your group. If family members want different disciplines or have very different levels, contact us so we can recommend a safe lesson setup.

English, Mandarin, or Cantonese

Clear communication makes a first snow day easier. Private lessons are available in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese.

Young beginners

Can a very young child join?

Our youngest guest so far started at 2 years and 10 months. That is our experience, not a minimum-age promise: every young child is different, and suitability depends on readiness, equipment fit, snow and weather conditions, and the lesson plan.

Before booking, tell us the child's age, foot length in centimeters, usual shoe size, and whether they want to ski or snowboard. We will help confirm whether an appropriate lesson and suitable rental equipment are available.

Lesson setup

Who can learn together?

Standard private lessons are offered for 1–2 guests or 3–4 guests, with half-day and full-day options. Families can share a lesson when their discipline, ability, ages, and goals allow the instructor to keep the session safe and productive.

If your group mixes ski and snowboard, adults and very young children, or widely different levels, send us the details first. Separate instructors or lesson times may be a better fit.

Traveling solo?

Adult first-timer groups

Solo travelers age 16+ can join selected fixed-date, true-first-timer classes at Sapporo Teine. Ski groups are taught in English; snowboard groups are taught in Mandarin Chinese. Each class requires 3 paid guests and allows up to 6.
